Group Volunteering

Dilworth Soup Kitchen is a nonprofit organization providing hot nutritious lunches every Monday and Friday to our Charlotte area guests in need, no questions asked. We changed our model during the pandemic from sit-down lunches to providing healthy takeout meals and have since continued that program as it allows us to reach more people. Our all-volunteer team prepares and provides 200+ high-quality lunches twice a week. Fresh food and a broad range of groceries generously donated by our local partners are also offered to our guests.

We have no paid staff and rely on volunteers to help us make this service available to the people we serve. Volunteers perform various tasks: food preparation and cooking, washing dishes, general cleaning, inspecting, and sorting produce, packaging desserts and bread, lunch assembly, bagging groceries, and lunch distribution. We also need skills-based pro bono volunteering such as fundraising, marketing, social media, public relations, etc. (Note: We ask that Corporate Groups be no larger than 6 people. For groups significantly larger than 6 we have programs that can be done offsite).
