In light of recent events and concerns raised within the Dilworth community, the Dilworth Soup Kitchen has temporarily suspended local lunch distribution at 1200 East Blvd. During the pause, DSK will consider alternative locations and distribution approaches while also seeking community input.
Lunches and groceries will continue to be made and delivered to three Charlotte Housing Authority sites. No lunches or groceries will be distributed at East Blvd. during the review period. Various options will be considered for how to meet the needs of those who have been coming to the soup kitchen from throughout Charlotte.
The Dilworth Soup Kitchen has been making and providing lunches for 18 years at the First Christian Church, treating everyone with compassion, dignity and respect. In 2020, DSK began serving lunches and providing groceries outside on Mondays and Fridays due to COVID.
