Dilworth Soup Kitchen Announces Canned Food, Non-Perishable Drive

The Dilworth Soup Kitchen announced its first canned food and non-perishable drive to provide groceries for its guests on Friday morning.

The DSK provides groceries along with its 180-plus nutritious meals on Monday and Friday mornings. Breads, canned foods and non-perishables are provided on Monday thanks to Trader Joe’s, Food Lion and Publix. To meet our guests’ needs on Fridays, the DSK has been purchasing $200 to $250 work of canned goods and non-perishables from Costco.

Potential contributors to the canned food drive and non-perishables are invited to provide donations on Mondays and Fridays from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. of the side entrance of First Christian Church on Dilworth Road East. The DSK is encouraging churches, schools and businesses to consider food drives to provide us with canned goods and nonperishables for our guests.
