Dilworth Soup Kitchen Thanks Local Groups For Helping Feed Our Guests

The Dilworth Soup Kitchen recognized several groups and organizations gave us a hand this summer by providing the lunch entrees for our guests.

“We truly appreciated the support and talents of individuals and groups in the community who gave us an occasional break in providing more than 180 lunches each week to our guests,” said Tom Fedell, board chairman. “Their menu selections and food have been fantastic; they have been true partners to our cause.”

In addition to the regular contributions from Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral Church, Dilworth United Methodist Church and Mac’s Speed Shop, the DSK also received entrees or sandwiches from the QC Squad, Lasagna Love and EKAM USA. A separate group of 15 community members coordinated a “Meatloaf Challenge” to provide one of the entrees. Quail Hollow and Caroline Country Club also provided entrees. Our canned food drives were inspired by Nicole and the team at Fuel Boot Camp.

The DSK receives regular contributions each week from Trader Joe’s, Food Lion, Publix, as well as Dunkin’ Donuts and The Cheesecake Factory. The DSK is encouraging churches, schools and businesses to consider food drives to provide us with canned goods and nonperishables for our guests.
